Abstract Barcode

This was the same assignment as The Recession installation.

This was a play on the barcode being more than just a 2D object that we take for granted. It is an amazing piece of technology with a lot of depth. The red glow is el wire (used by geeks to flash up computers) and it represents the barcode scanner. The sculpture is mounted 10mm away from the wall.

It is made up of aluminium extrusions at different lengths, widths and depths. I capped the ends and bolted them all together.

Im quite happy with how this turned out! Ill let you know what mark I get when I know!
